Sometimes you need a lot of help, sometimes just a little.
Linda Rosso taps broad industry and interdisciplinary marketing experience to research and quickly assess a situation, identify problems and point out opportunities for businesses to better connect with their customers, employees and other key stakeholders. Here are a a few examples of her work. You can find more here.
Integrated Marketing and Communications
Some clients need it all - from branding to marketing communications strategy to stewardship of corporate reputation. As Director of Marketing for The Works Partnership, an international human resources firm, Linda developed programs that supported growth in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and opening new markets in China and India. Working from
the United States and traveling frequently to offices throughout Asia,
she led the creation of branding and customer acquisition strategy, quality standards and
multi-media marketing communications in four languages. Her crisis
management experience was essential during the SARS outbreak, and
her corporate philanthropy experience was called into play after the
South Asian Tsunami. Linda Rosso produced a quick video you can watch here - it raised $10,000 USD in a few days for the Indonesian tsunami. To build Asian-based marketing expertise and
support
succession plans, Linda formed a regional marketing team to implement
corporate, regional and local market programs, and coached for a
successful handover.
Word-of-Mouth Marketing
While leading the financial services group at Edelman San Francisco, Linda Rosso's work was awarded the Public Relations Society of America's Bronze Anvil award for creating the Charles Schwab & Co. word-of-mouth street marketing campaign for "The Biggest Thing in Checking Since Checks," the introduction of an interest bearing, no-fee, ATM rebate checking account. Here is the photo narrative of the award-winning case study for Schwab's Investor Checking.
Social Media Marketing
The Mill Valley Food, Drink & Hospitality campaign began as a business development effort to reach a targeted community of interest - restaurant enthusiasts - in Mill Valley, California. Linda Rosso is the driving force behind the growing community, connecting businesses and consumers through a Facebook page with over 500 active monthly users and a developing Twitter presence. You can find Mill Valley Food, Drink & Hospitality on Facebook.
Product Promotion
Linda Rosso worked with the Mill Valley Police Department to promote a fee-based resident parking permit, designed to encourage shopping and parking turnover in the downtown area. Signage, traditional and social media outreach, direct mail, on-site sales and city communications helped achieve a 90% acceptance rate in the program's trial year.
Corporate Philanthropy
Linda Rosso designed the non-profit business
structure and capitalization requirements for a new corporate foundation
for videogame marketer, Sega of America. She researched
and analyzed the state of children's health and education, then
developed a cause-related marketing strategy, which set the
corporation's philanthropic agenda. She sought out and performed due
diligence on all potential grant candidates. Linda's work won the full
support of the Sega Foundation's Board of Directors who accepted 100% of
grant recommendations, totaling $2,000,000 US dollars in the first
year.
Branding, promotion, sponsorship
Linda Rosso provided contract project support to Visa International's branding team for several years, writing the corporate brand identity plan, developing global
destination promotion plans for consumers, member banks and merchants and preparing the sponsorship plan for the Olympic Games.
Employee Communications
Linda Rosso developed an employee education campaign for eyeglass lens manufacturer Sola
Optical's (now a division of Zeiss) strategic business goals, translating high-level management
presentations into understandable, embraceable messages for all
employees.
Trade Show/Conference Marketing
Rosso Marketing and Communications introduced Top Human,
a Chinese leadership coaching company in North America at
the International Coaches Federation convention via speaking opportunities, book
promotion, scholarship promotion, a US website, advertising, printed collateral and
booth design.
...and a little bit of everything else
Over a several years,
Linda Rosso teamed with the marketing
agency of McKesson Corporation to develop employee campaigns, marketing
plans and consumer promotions and print collateral materials for water
products, grocery distribution and pharmacy chain divisions.
